Merafong City Local Municipality in Gauteng (formerly cross-boundary with North West). The Khutsong township was the site of violent protests (2005-2007) against demarcation that moved it to North West Province. R70 million+ in property damage. The demarcation was eventually reversed in 2009, returning Merafong to Gauteng.
