The UK Serious Fraud Office investigated BAE for corruption in connection with the Arms Deal. BAE paid commissions of at least GBP 10 million to Fana Hlongwane and additional payments to other intermediaries. In 2010, BAE entered a global plea agreement paying $400 million in fines but made no admission of bribery and no payment to South Africa.
