Former lawn equipment salesman who became CEO of Fidentia Asset Management. Stole R1.4 billion from investors, primarily from the Living Hands Umbrella Trust that supported widows and orphans of mineworkers killed in mine accidents. Initially sentenced to a R150,000 fine (2013), the SCA overturned this and imposed 15 years (2014). Released on parole in 2021 after 7 years.
