Jackie Selebi served simultaneously as South Africa's top cop (SAPS National Commissioner) and President of Interpol — while accepting R1.2 million in bribes from drug dealer Glenn Agliotti. Convicted of corruption in 2010 and sentenced to 15 years, he served less than one year before being released on "medical parole." He died in 2015. His case symbolises how ANC cadre deployment placed compromised individuals at the apex of law enforcement.
