Khulubuse Zuma, nephew of President Jacob Zuma, was a director of Aurora Empowerment Systems which was granted management control of Pamodzi Gold mines in 2009. Under Aurora's management, R1.7 billion in mining assets were destroyed: equipment stripped, gold removed from vaults, mines flooded. 5,300+ workers went unpaid for 14+ months while Zuma maintained a visibly affluent lifestyle. Declared a delinquent director by the North Gauteng High Court. Found in contempt of court for failing to comply with orders. Despite clear evidence of fraud, no criminal conviction was secured during the Zuma presidency.
