Minister of Public Enterprises (2010-2014), Home Affairs (2014-2017), and Finance (2017-2018). The Zondo Commission found Gigaba was central to SOE board capture, approving the appointments of Brian Molefe at Transnet, Dudu Myeni at SAA, and Anoj Singh as CFO — appointments that enabled more than R100bn in subsequent SOE losses. At Home Affairs, the Constitutional Court found in 2018 that he lied under oath in the Fireblade Aviation case. At Finance, his brief tenure coincided with South Africa's sovereign-credit downgrade to junk. Resigned November 2018. Never criminally prosecuted.
